10 tips to help you write better captions
Lead with the hook. Start with something scroll-stopping — a bold statement, question or emoji that catches the eye.
Keep it short(ish). You’ve got 2–3 lines before “See More” cuts you off. Make them count.
Write the way you talk. Skip the corporate tone. Be clear, casual and human — that’s what connects.
Use emojis (strategically). They help guide the eye and add personality, but don’t overdo it.
Include a call to action (CTA). Tell people what you want them to do: DM you, comment, save the post, tag a friend, etc.
Focus on one message per post. Don’t cram in multiple points. One clear idea performs better.
Add context, not clutter. Give just enough detail to make it engaging — then stop.
Use line breaks for readability. No one wants to read a wall of text. Break it up.
Tailor to your audience. Speak directly to your ideal client, community or niche. (That’s where the riches are.)
Test and tweak. Track your analytics and see what your audience responds to. Double down on what works.
